Is There Even One Working Sync Client for Blomp?

Post by vashidoki » Fri Sep 12, 2025 4:05 am

Hi Blomp Team and Community,

I’m reaching out because I’ve hit a wall trying to use any desktop sync client for Blomp — and I’m starting to wonder if this service is still actively maintained.

First Attempt: BlompGo 2.5.2
I started with BlompGo 2.5.2, which I found archived in an old forum thread (not available on the official site).
After installing it, I encountered multiple critical issues:

No system tray icon at first, then no settings menu — only “Exit” and “Logout.”
Zero synchronization: files placed in the local folder never uploaded; folders created online never appeared locally.
No auto-start, no logs, no error messages — just silence.
I documented everything here:

Second Attempt: BlompLive
Frustrated but hopeful, I went to my Blomp dashboard and clicked:

“Use Blomp on Windows, Mac and Linux!”
Download BlompLive today!

The file downloaded: 4f642882-BlompInstall-0.9.13
Size: less than 1 KB.

I thought it was a corrupted download. So I tried again — same tiny file.
When I tried to run it, Windows replied:

“This app can’t run on your PC.”

No installer. No executable. Just a ghost file.

Third Attempt: Official Download Page
I went directly to the main site in different browser:

Clicked the Windows icon.
Downloaded… another tiny file — identical in behavior to BlompLive’s.

I opened it in a text editor.
It contains no code. No installer logic. Just garbage or placeholder data.

My Real Question:
Is Blomp still alive?

The website promises seamless syncing across devices. The UI implies there’s a working Windows/Mac/Linux application.
Yet every link leads to a broken, empty, or non-functional download.

Are these downloads legacy artifacts? Was the sync client abandoned?
Or is there a real, working version somewhere that hasn’t been linked properly?

I don’t want to manage my photos and videos manually through a web browser. I want true cloud sync — like Dropbox, Google Drive, or Syncthing.
If Blomp wants to be taken seriously as a backup solution, it needs a functional desktop client — not dead links and mystery files.

Please tell me:
Is there a working version of Blomp for Windows/macOS/Linux?
If yes — where do I get it?
If no — will it be fixed? Or should I start migrating away?

Thank you for your time. I genuinely hope this isn’t the end of Blomp — but right now, it feels like the project has been left behind.

— A frustrated but hopeful user

I downloaded the app from the official homepage — but I see no way to connect a folder (drive) for syncing with the cloud.
The link to BlompLive in my dashboard still doesn’t work.
The BlompGo link now downloads version 2.5.2 — which I already tried from a forum post, and I’ve already described its failures in another thread.

Now I’m asking the hard questions:
Is this project even alive? Is it supported? Is it being developed?
There are already too many signs that nothing here will ever work.
I registered and got access to my dashboard — but what’s next? Nothing.

And yet — on your website, you write:

“With Blomp’s free photo and video storage, you can save, sync, organize, and backup your photos and videos to cloud.”
“Blomp’s free storage gives you the power to access your documents, photos, videos, etc. even when you are offline on your Windows, Mac, or Ubuntu Linux desktop.”

So I went back to https://www.blomp.com/#download-section .
I clicked the Windows icon.
I downloaded 4f642882-BlompInstall-0.9.13.exe — 50 MB, not a broken 1 KB file.
I ran it as Administrator. Installation completed without errors.
I logged in.

And then…
Where is the sync folder? Where is the Z: drive? Where are the settings? Where is ANY indication of synchronization?

This is not a sync client.
It’s a manual file uploader disguised as cloud backup software.

So I need real answers:

Do you confirm that Blomp has NO working folder synchronization feature on Windows, Mac, or Linux?
If yes — why do you still advertise “sync,” “offline access,” and “backup” on your homepage?
If no — why haven’t you removed those lies from your website?
If the feature exists — show me how to enable it. Give me step-by-step instructions.
Now I can only upload files manually through the browser — like MediaFire.
That’s not cloud storage. That’s deception.

I don’t want to waste time on a service that promises something it cannot deliver.
Answer honestly:
✅ Does Blomp have real folder synchronization?
❌ Or is it completely absent?

— A user who tested everything.
And no longer believes your words.

Hello.
I have the same issues than the person that originated this post.
I am a new Blomp user. I appreciate the possibility to have free 40 GB storage. I was able to upload partially a folder using the very basic program "C:\Program Files\Blomp\Blomp.exe). But after more than 10 hours, and a 50 MB/s upload measured speed, only some of the files and subfolders of the folder were uploaded.
With BlompGo nothing happens, just an icon in the Windows taskbar that opens with right click a menu with "information", "exit" and "logout". Left click on the icon does nothing. Double click on the icon opens the Blomp temporary folder. Hoovering over the icon pops up a "you are running latest version" message. Left click on "information" opens the Blomp dashboard on the web browser.
Please could you confirm that BlompGo is working and give some instructions about its use?
Could you tell me if it is adviseable to use the simple Blomp.exe program or if it is better to stick with the Web Dashboard ?
I am using the latest Windows 10 64 bit.
Thanks and regards
