I would like to know if Blomp supports FTP access. My purpose is to back up data from my Ubuntu server directly to Blomp.

Currently, I can only connect to my server via SSH, so I’m wondering if there is a way to perform server-to-Blomp backup using FTP (or any alternative method that Blomp provides).

Could you please confirm if FTP is supported, or guide me on the best way to back up my server to Blomp?

Blomp doesn’t support FTP, and that’s intentional because FTP isn’t a very secure or efficient option for backups as it transfers data in plain text, doesn’t use compression, and will re-upload entire files even if only a small part changes. This makes it slower, less reliable, and more vulnerable.

Instead, we recommend using rsync, which is much smarter and safer. It supports encryption, compression, and incremental transfers, making your backups faster, more reliable, and more secure compared to FTP.
